DESIGNING A NEW HOMEPAGE

NO ONE LIKES OLD COOKIES

Shown here is our old cookie message. To put it bluntly, it’s not the best-designed pop-up, there is no clear exit or accept, it is very intrusive, the gray on gray doesn’t help legibility. So to start this journey on redesigning a new homepage we need to start at the cookie message, the first thing a customer sees.

FRESHLY BAKED COOKIES

First, we need to fix the legibility by already making the text white, and the background Tommy Blue the cookie message became instantly more legible. Customers nowadays have a negative feeling when it comes to pop-ups they feel intrusive and forced. So to hopefully counter this problem, we made it a slide-up banner at the bottom of the page. By adding a clear green call to action, we make it clear what to do and expect, the exact opposite of the old design.

NOW THE HOMEPAGE

Following the trend of legibility, we overall increased the font sizes and removed unused text-styles and shorted the list of available text-styles. Overall we simplified the options of available modules and text-styles. The reason is we noticed that our content team barely used any of the customization tools we developed/designed. This method also makes it easier to stay on brand and makes it easier to mix and match certain modules.
